High gloss cabinets, grey tiled floor, subway tile backsplash, steel appliances, and quartz countertop complete this kitchen. A Murano glass black and white island hood used as the statement piece. A red rug, wood tones and artwork provide the color relief in the dinette area alongside a black dining table.
Used a glass bottomed concrete sink with LED lighting as the centerpiece of this design. Lighted mirror, chrome faucet, and unfinished concrete wall helped create the industrial style ambience.
Created this floating concrete table to straddle two support poles, instead of hiding them. White glass countertop, matte aluminum spacer and Italian slate-colored tiles in the front were used to create the bar to complement the table. Twisted pendant lights and elegant chandelier completes the modern minimalist look
We see two types of scenarios often. A client already has a plan drawn out by an architect or a client doing a small remodel thinks they don't need an interior design consultant.
An architect will account for structural elements including how your house sits on the lot, they will make sure your layout meets code but most of the time they do not reflect or capture thinking around your lifestyle. Of course some architects will listen to your inspiration and vision and create layouts from a design consultant's POV, but they are not the norm.
On the other hand homeowners who hire a general contractor without going through a design review often end up regretting it for years to come. Most GCs will come out and ask you what you want and take your general ideas and or sketches but their expertise is building according to spec. They are not focused on first asking about your real needs or making suggestions or providing walkthroughs using 3D rendering. GCs will also usually give you a limited set of choices for everything from countertops, to cabinets to windows! Or if you have some exotic material in mind they will most likely discourage you from using it. Yes, many clients change their minds when they see what their initial ideas will look like in a 3D model and many get talked out of implementing their ideas because the general contractor doesn't do the hard work of finding the right materials within your budget. Remodels are not cheap, why make the mistake of creating a space that doesn't feel like you?
Architects work on structural elements, design consultants make it look and feel like you and a GC can then come in and build it.
We offer free virtual consultations over zoom, or we can also come out and do a walkthrough at your place for a small fee. If you engage us to then build a full layout and help you visualize your space better whether it's using color swatches or 3D-Redering, we will make sure you can see yourself in it before you build. And we will work with your contractors and help spec out your design and avoid potential pitfalls. Full design engagements start from $1999
